Grogged stoneware mug glazed with rust recovered through magnet fishing from canal waste. The rust has been reclaimed, processed and used to create the surface of the mug, giving each piece its own variation in colour and texture.
The glaze is part of an ongoing exploration into the materials found in our waterways, turning discarded and recovered material into something functional and considered. Each mug is slightly different, with the rust reacting naturally during the firing.
