A classic staple in a cupboard, made by hand, not by Mike Nelson’s.
These objects are a tie to home. They’re glazed clay dug from an Ironstone mine in yorkshire and with ash from my parents’ hearth.
Made to be used or viewed.
Stoneware, Edition of 32.
The mugs are around 10 × 11 cm and hold roughly 1 pint of whatever liquid you fancy. As they’re handmade, the size varies a little between each one. If you have a preference, leave a note at checkout and I’ll try to find one that suits you.
Because of the glaze chemistry, there’s variation between the mugs. Colours change from piece to piece, and some have cracks in the slip. This is all part of the process and is intentional. I like these differences. They give each mug its own character.
